LAND SHARK STEEL FRAMES
Land
Shark steel frames are built with a combination of fillet brazed and
lugged construction, and full fillet brazed construction for the top
end models.
Fillet
brazing has been around for decades, and it's a great way to make
a superlight, durable steel bike. Fillet brazing joins tubes with
molten brass, which is formed into a ‘fillet’ around each
mitered tube. The process is time consuming, but when done correctly,
the result is a beautiful, seamless transition from tube to tube.
And since no lugs are required, a wider range of oversized and multishaped
tubes are available.
Brazing (lugged or fillet) is also a lower temperature process than
TIG welding, which helps preserve the strength of ultralight steel
tubes.

Land Shark can also build fullly lugged frames upon request. Call
for details.

For tubing, Land Shark often builds with the latest Dedacciai butted
micro alloy steels due to their minimal weight, excellent durability
and wide variety of shapes and sizes to help tune the ride to customer
needs. Other tubing from Columbus, Reynolds and True Temper is also
available.
