NEW 'TYPE R' STEEL CHAINSTAYS AND SEATSTAYS

Land Shark has limited quantities of some very special steel chainstays and seatstays from Deddaciai.
Type R stays utilize the same grade of heat-treated, ultra thin wall CrMo tubing as a Dedacciai Less Than Zero tubeset, but they feature some radical shape changes that enhance ride quality without adding weight.

The chainstays start out oval at the bottom bracket, then transition to triangular in the middle, and then round at the dropout. Seatstays start out oval on the ends and transition to square in the middle. This sort of dramatic multi-shaping is very difficult to produce in lightweight steel stays and it makes a noticeable difference in ride quality by boosting lateral stiffness for snappy acceleration while still maintaining steel’s excellent vertical compliance for a smooth ride.

Type R stays are more expensive to produce and a bit harder to build with, and therefore they’ll add $195 to the cost of a standard steel frame, but customers have report back that they’re worth every penny.
