FEBRUARY: LAND SHARK PISTA

We've been busy since the last Frame of the Month, and this is just one of the gems to pass through the workshop recently. This Land Shark Pista is a great example of a classic steel frame with some modern touches. The owner wanted a legitimate track frame for the velodrome, but with some roadgoing extras for winter training, like double bottle mounts, a sloping top tube, and a Reynolds Ouzo carbon fork that packs 40mm of track-worthy offset and is still drilled for a front brake. Tubing is Dedacciai Less Than Zero, which is available in a variety of shaped and oversized tubing that's perfect for building a stout, responsive track frame, and the fastback stays tighten the rear triangle to add even more stiffness for sprinting. For paint, this bike features a deep blue with red metalflakes, with faded and textured teal panels bordered by copper leaf.
